Macpac XTERRA Trail Challenge Waihi

With flat and fast riverside trails, glorious climbs up Mt Karangahake and pristine native bush, few locations can compete with the Karangahake Gorge for drama, intrigue, and natural beauty.

Join in the Macpac XTERRA Trail Challenge Waihi.  Known as the jewel in the XTERRA crown this fabulous running and walking event is always a sell out.  Immerse yourself in the area's rich heritage as you run through old railway tunnels and past fascinating relics from the gold mining age.  This is undoubtedly some of the best off road running in the country!

This year's event will take place on Saturday 21 November, 2020 from the Dickey Flat Adventure Camp, Waihi.  There are 5 Event Options to choose from, and participants range in age from under 13 years to over 60 years.

As trail runners and nature lovers the team are keen to do their part to protect the planet and reduce the environmental impact of their events.  As such XTERRA Trail Challenge Waihi is removing disposable cups from all aid stations.  Please remember your reusable cup, hydration pack or water bottle to fill up.  They’ll have collapsible silicone cups available at the event base for $5.
