Game Season 2024 is Open

This year, Game Season runs from the 4 May to 3 June 2024.

This activity predominantly affects Section A - Kaiaua to Thames and Section C - Paeroa to Waihi of the Hauraki Rail Trail. 

Riders must be aware however this notice of warning is for the entire Trail, and caution must be exercised at all times.

Fish & Game New Zealand regulates game bird hunting throughout New Zealand. The regulations are amended each year to suit changing sporting and environmental conditions.

Each region has its own set of regulations working in conjunction with the national regulations.

Please be aware of and adhere to local regulations at all times.
