Do you have a passion for art and some amazing ideas up your sleeve?
We’re on the lookout for a talented secondary school student to design and paint an epic mural on the Hauraki Rail Trail storage container!
This is your chance to show off your artistic flair and creativity, with materials provided.
The exterior dimensions of the container measure 6.10m long x 2.59m high.
Your masterpiece will be featured on one side of the container and needs to reflect the Hauraki Rail Trail theme, celebrating the history and culture of our beautiful rohe (region).
Who can enter?
If you’re a secondary school student who is either homeschooled within the rohe or attends a secondary school along the Hauraki Rail Trail, (Hauraki Plains, Thames, Paeroa, Waihi, Te Aroha, Te Wharekura o Te Rau Aroha and Matamata), this competition is for YOU!
Key Dates and information / clauses:
Competition opens: 1st October 2024
Competition closes: 15th November 2024
Decision to be made and winner notified: by Monday 25th November
Painting starts: from 2nd December 2024 (during office hours)
Deadline for completion: 1st February 2025
All artwork submitted may be used by the Hauraki Rail Trail with a credit to the artist.
