ANZAC Poppies in the Park will be held at the Historical Maritime Park and Museum in Paeroa from 14 - 25 April, 10am – 3pm each day. This super event is something for all the family to enjoy. Go for a wander around the gardens and see over 2000 poppies on display.
Have an Anzac ice cream or an Anzac biscuit with a cup of tea or coffee in delightful heritage cups. Bring a picnic lunch and stay longer to enjoy the atmosphere of remembrance while you listen to music of the war area echoing through the trees.
The Museum is home to a very important collection of Maritime history relating to the role that Paeroa played as a port for unloading mining machinery and equipment in the late 19th century. As New Zealand’s only inland port, the Museum has significant links dating back to pre-European settlement and the arrival of Captain James Cook in 1769 in HMS Endeavour.
